A more secure way of enabling Electronic Funds Transfer
Pay ID is an alternative to using BSB and account number to pay by Electronic Funds Transfer. Pay ID is more secure and is easier to use. You can use an email address in your domain name or you can use your ABN, the latter is recommended. The payer sees your company name when they enter the Pay ID into their online banking. You can include Pay ID in emails securely, whereas BSB and account are not secure when sent by email.
It’s always a good idea in all emails to remind your members and guests that you never include BSB and account in your emails, so they are protected from scammers who might alter content of emails you send.
After you create a Pay ID with your bank, enter it here:
PAY_ID.
You can include Pay ID in emailed payment instructions by updating this Configuration Item:
PAYMENT_TYPES_EMAILS_HTML.
If the above configuration item does not appear, contact us and we will set it up for you – older configurations need updating.
